I have been playing at the the vice.
Who still has open water and would like to try a couple of flies?
I don't want to wait until spring to find out if they work for gills.

Hey Rick,
Post a picture for the rest of us sorry buggers, who are living the freeze over also.
You never know, you just might inspire us to get back to the tying bench.
Take care,
chris
Shame on you - Don't let the Mrs find out (lol) (viCe)

Rick,
I've got open water and it looks as if it will be that way for a while. If you still have my addy I'd be glad to field test them for you.
Thanks,
Greg
Still open water here in Al. of course...and if these flies you want tested are anything like the ones I got from you earlier this year...Yep, you betcha I would like to try them out....Rob
Hey Rick,
Thanks for the offer. I still have (believe it or not) some open water. However, I'm too MAMBY PAMBY to go outside. If you post some pics, I may (NOT) change my mind.
Rick,
Big Creek Lake is reportedly frozen over, as is Badger Creek Lake. In fact, some of the guys in our fishing club have been out on the ice already, reporting thicknesses of 2.5"-4" as of 2 days ago. Saw kids walking on the ponds here in Ankeny today as well.
Plenty of yellow and white gbass here in NW AL, and and occasional SMB, Oh yeah a few good bluegills too.
The computer at home is still not fixed.
Can't uplaod pictures from the library computer.
When it is fixed I will get the pictures on.

Got some dandy woven bodied flies, as well as some other patterns; will hopefully try them over the weekend. Thanks Rick ..... I need to learn how to weave.
