Praying for you East Coasters!! Please keep us in the loop when you can!!
Just lots of rain here (west of D.C.) this morning; the wind is supposed to hit later this afternoon. Folks along the coast are getting pummeled.
Regards,
Scott
The eye is forecast to roll right over us (45 minutes due West of Atlantic City)....life will get real interesting over the next 24 hours.

LMAO!!!! Well, hey....I'll consider it scouting for good holes. :)
I got an email this morning from my wife's best friend who lives at Southern Shores, NC (outer banks area). It was still raining hard but she had not lost utilities, did not a tree down in her front yard and indicated there was a concern about flooding at high tide in the area.
Jesse,
Been reading a couple of message boards down that way and below Southern Shores it is bad, to say the least. Fishing pier at Kill Devil Hills has received quite a bit of damage. Lot of flooding in that area. Hatteras area is under water. Road (pavement) gone in a couple of spots, A lot of dunes have been washed out. Couple of houses are gone. Reports don't sound good for the areas that son and I fish on a regular basis. So far in my area, central Va, just a little rain and light wind. But then it hasn't gotten to us quite yet.

I looked at our friends address on Google Earth overhead and street view. She live on the backside of the penisula and her house sits on a rise, well above street level. She is pretty independent and resourceful, she logged about 25 years as the wife of a SF soldier, unfortunately she is now a widow but a strong willed Mississippi Delta gal.
Just cold and rainy here in Central VA. But as stated we are in the Lose power area according to the news. Winds will pick up throughout the day and because we are so low, there will be plenty of flooding. I'm glad we live on a hill.
Some pretty serious winds hitting us now, and it's the first bands. Eye to roll over us around midnight. Barrier islands are mostly under water now....from LBI to Cape May is getting hammered....and it's not even hit land yet.
