Yes, Ed. He ties a lot of his flies.
First clue is how he applies thread to the hook. No scissors or breaking the thread. Always applies thread close to the hook shank, etc., etc. Single cuts of materials instead of double cuts.........

Your fly should catch fish.
I think another thing I like about his tying is thread control. He also did an excellent job of explaining weaving the body on the Bitch Creek Nymph. I'll look for more of his videos online. I think I'll try that style of fly. It might work on 'gills.

Ah, Arrick's. My favorite store in West Yellowstone, and that is saying a lot for a town that seeming has a fly shop on every block. They spend the winter tying in that shop, and there are always interesting local patterns to be found in their bins. Good tip about starting the thread close, Byron. Will have to try that.
