August 4-11 Trip
Need some help and/or advice, guys. My son and I usually go to the Missoula area every year but I am having some grave concerns regarding water levels and closures/hoot-owl issues this year. As our travel dates can not be changed, I am wondering about a location change. Calgary area? Fernie/Elk River area? Yellowstone? Wyoming? Colorado?
We are open to go anywhere as long as we are able to fish. I know this is a lot of "crystal ball" forecasting but I would really appreciate those of you in the know to offer what bit of advice you can offer.
Thanks in advance!

I'm not "in the know", but I do know how to find precipitation information in the internet. ;)
It looks like if water levels are your concern, the Colorado front range is your best bet in the US. Yellowstone may be near normal, but pretty much everywhere else in the West will be below normal. Of course, how much of that fell as snow is an important part of the picture that this graph does not show.
