Proposed 14 inch size limit on small-mouth bass in Indiana

Next Wednesday, December 15, the Indiana DNR Advisory Council is going to consider a recommendation for a statewide 14" small-mouth bass size limit. If you live or fish in Indiana please let Indiana DNR know your opinion. I think the size limit is an excellent idea because:
1. Small-mouth eat young carp and suckers and there is no research indicating size limits are detrimental to stream quality.
2. A consistent regulation is easier to understand and enforce.
3. Indiana is not known for its sport fishing. Any improvements to the fishery would result in more enjoyment and improved financial impact associated with sport fishing.

In Washington State you can keep 5 bass. All have to be under 12" with the exception that one only can be over 17". Seems to be working well.

Bass don't taste good anyway... I'd throw 'em all back!

Smallmouth and largemouth bass are sport fish and that is why you go after them...for the fight...put 'em back so you can fight 'em again. If you need fish to eat there are very few states that don't have crappie and bluegill.
