Spray-on line cleaner?
Does anyone know where I can buy a spray-on line silicone? Back Water Laboratories no longer makes "Special Delivery" spray and Orvis has discontinued their "Line Slick." It really cleaned the lines when you sprayed it on your spooled line. Was great when fishing grity or dirty water. Quick and effective.
Sadly I can't find anything comparable. Any ideas? Don't need a cleaner that uses a pad. Thanks.
Regards,
Bill

I've only used the wipes, but there are people that swear by 303 protectant.

303 Protectant
That 303 Protectant, do you spray it on and wipe it off? I'm not too happy with and of the stuff I've used lately.

I was in Orvis Manchester eight days ago and bought a bottle of Line Slick. Did I get the last bottle? -Philip

FWIW, the scientist representative at Cortland recommend a wash of warm water with Dawn detergent.
Follow this with a good rinse and dry with a clean soft towel. When Cortland
made the presentation, several questions about cleaning
products were asked. As I recall, all the cleaners were considered
by the Cortland guys to be harmful to fly lines. Just passing this on.

Special Delivery and Orvis's Line Slick weren't meant to be a cleaner, merely a temporary silicone coating to help a sticky line. Fishing in the Louisiana marsh gets your line gritty and of course saltwater makes your line sticky. Usually the silicone coating is gone in less than thirty minutes of fishing, but great casting while it adheres. You still have to clean your line daily after fishing the salt with a good washdown and drying procedure.
