bream, bass, crappie
this has been a wetter and colder-than-average winter in the southeast but i fish at least once a week anyway. last sunday, the high was about 50 and the rain was coming. i tossed a white jig mainly to see if the crappie were hitting. nothing for about an hour or so. then the rain slowly started and the wind was a bit nippy. i grabbed a poncho and continued the fun. bam. pound and half crappie. bam. another. and then a bass, 2 pounder. bluegills didn't miss out on the opportunity either. this continued until my fingers got numb from the cold. i sat in the truck for a thaw-out and then went back at it. when i got home disecting the stomachs of these fish contained small minnows and spiders. that white jig was just the ticket.
someone told me to cheer up, things could be a lot worse.
so i cheered up, and sure enough, things got a lot worse.:D

Similar results along the Gulf coast with a size 8 white clouser with pearl flash.

hey, coachbob,
i've started tying clousers, some with a 1/0 and some with a no. 2 hook. i put white bucktail on the bottom and top with chartreuse in the middle. a little flash also. this seems to work well with the crappie and bass up here.
what are you catching down in la?
