A Fish on every river
Today I'm starting a quest that may take the rest of my life. I have two goals...
1st to fish on and catch at least one fish on every river in Texas.
2nd to catch every type of freshwater fish in Texas and take a photo of it.
I have a list of rivers of texas that is about 40+ and I can't even guess how many types of fish there are.
Anyone else out threre doing anything like that?
-
I didnt know there were 40 rivers in Texas.

I read an article about a couple catching a carp in every state. I think I would like to try this when im older.
By the way they got every state except alaska
-
What are you going to do about the fish that cant be caught on rod and reel? (alewife, etc)
-
An admirable set of amnbitions jargo. I'd love to try that, except the number of rivers in New York is probably way too big to make it practical in my lifetime.
-
jargo, ... neat idea, ...
I'm still trying to catch a Salmon and then a trout in all of the POOLS on my home waters. ... There are over 60 in the main branch and another 30 or so on the North West branch http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/wink.gif
It IS fun to set goals in whatever one does.

If I'm correct, the Brazos (or maybe its the Guadalope River) is supposed to be kick *** for smallies...anybody else here of this? And the bass in these rivers are actually a species of there are own...I think its guadolope bass or something....of course I could be loco in la cabesa.
My goal is just to fish as often as possible without going throuhg the Big D and I don't mean Dallas. hehe
-
As for the smallies, when the golden alge killed most of the sandbass they restocked the brazos with smallmouth. And as chance would have it, I know exactly where they put them. It's a hard place to get to but it's worth it.

Reading your list of rivers made me one homesick Texan!
