S&M Bobbin question
I am in need of opinions. I have using the original S&M bobbins for my tying, and truly love them. My question is that several friends have tried to convince me to switch to the Wasatch style with the ceramic insert. Does anyone think this idea is worth it. Thanks

John,
I only use the standard S&M bobbins, and have never had any problems with the tips fraying thread; did have one with a nick in the lower end of the tube that I fixed with a quick touch of some 300 grit wet/dry sandpaper. I don't tie with GSP thread or Kevlar, so I can't say if they'll cause any grooving.
Regards,
Scott

I've been tying for the past six years or so with a Tiemco Curved Ceramic Bobbin. I love it, but if you already like the S & M and aren't having any issues with it, you should probably stick with it.

its your choice to use what works best for you.
plus for the price of the wasatch s&m bobbins, i'd stick to what i already have.
