Hey ffm i was thinking about hittin the water over by pine flat... where would you suggest its a good spot to spend a few hours?
  3. yes, kings river is open all year round. bag limit is 5 trout. there are some bass, sucker fish and a new breed with a large mouth long body like trout but dont know what kind of fish it is. actually there's alot of place for fly fishing on that river. from right under the dam all the way down to freeway180/kings cayon road. but where you speak of the great spot for fly fishing for big fish is a catch and release only. it's right behind avacodo lake on the kings river. if you are going to the catch and release with big trout i would say get some white and black wooly bugger. but mostly white wolly bugger you'll catch all day long. cast it in the middle of the river or as far as you can to the other side of the river then start stripping your line in either in slow or fast it all works. you'll figure it out, sometimes it's a mix of both some times it's small stripping then again some times it's fast and large stripping.
