Robin, I got a couple of furled leaders from you a couple of years ago. I got the floro carbon and mono ones. I am going up into Arkansas and fly fish on White River with friend I met 3 years ago. He said he uses thread furled leaders and I was wondering if you make those and if so how much are they? Do they come in different colors and different length? I dont know anything else to ask about thiem. When you have time would you please pm me about things I asked? Thanks in advance, Bob Weber

Robin, I finally finished a furled leader that I am happy with. I was having so much trouble trying to get all the loops off after furling but I finally did it today and then I got the Shorb (I think that is how you spell it) tied correctly. I made it from 4# mono. I was talking with my friend I met in Arkansas and he said that he uses 3/0 line for tying flies and does not use mono because it is too stiff. I know you had mentioned something about different size threads, monos, and flourocarbons. What is your opinion again on using the tying threads? I am going to be fishing mainly for bream, crappie, and bass. Thanks for EVERYTHING and especially your patience with me. Bob

Muddlers

by rrhyne56 on 05-18-2010 at 03:46 PM
I have always enjoyed Muddlers, both tying and fishing, and I don't know why. I'll worry about that later. Here's one I've been working on lately:

Its been too long

by rrhyne56 on 07-11-2008 at 08:05 PM
since I posted so here goes. Been hitting lots of little ponds and creeks in the area. Zero weight, one weight tackle and having a blast!

Green sunfish, bluegills, all sorts of panfish hybrids.

FAOL Blog!

by rrhyne56 on 01-01-2008 at 03:43 PM
W0W this is exciting! I never knew there was an FAOL blog until this morning. Guess drilling around and snooping is not all bad.

We down here in Texas are a bit wimpy when it comes to cold weather. Its been hitting the low 30's and high 20's at night lately and that is plenty enough for me. Thank goodness the wind has not been blowing at usual Texas velocities or it'd be bitter indeed.

The striper action below Texoma dam has been some of the biggest excitement lately, that and the false runs by sand bass.

Next week or so, 26th actually, is the Texoma Tie-In hosted by Red River Flyfishers at Eisenhower State Park on Lake Texoma. I'll be there so that I won't be called square.
