My grandparents live west of shepherd on isabela road. I will have to try deerfeild park next summer

Most of the time I dont fish around home. I'm only 90 minutes from the PM, Manistee and the Ausable so I generally just hop in the truck and head up when I get the bug. If I do stay around home I normally head out west of town a little bit to Deerfield Park. There are a lot of walking trails there and some good fishing for Small mouth and rock bass and various other fish. There are also some other access points that I dont know the name of in the general area. I've never fished at island park, although we go there quite a bit. Seems pretty shallow and exposed as much of the bank has been mowed down. I would personally make the drive west of town to get away from people and have a little better fishing. One thing though there is normally a small entrance fee to get into Deerfield park. Do your grandparents live right in Shepherd? I live on Shepherd Road north of town a few miles.

where do you fishi around mt pleasent. my grandparents live in shepherd and i am always looking for a place to fish around there. have you ever tried island park? i was thinking about it this summer
