Individual taste in books varies as much as the favorite rod or fly. With that in mind, we hope to review books and videos from the ever-growing fly fishing world, and share them with you. Books will be the best of all worlds, new and old. Many of the old books are now available in reprint, and the wisdom contained is timely today. Others can be found in second-hand book stores, or by mail order dealers. As we find videos we feel are outstanding they will be included. Be assured, reviews are based on what we have actually read or viewed, and due to that fact, may not appear weekly.

how to make a wooden fishing net book cover

Alan Kloepper and Clive Schaupmeyer, two native Canadians, have combined their love of angling and woodworking to produce a “How To” book for the angler/woodworker that would like to try their hand at producing a wooden fishing net.

I must admit that I am a finished carpenter – as a carpenter I’m finished, and the idea of building a wooden net is beyond my limited woodworking skill. However, for anyone that is not woodworking impaired like myself this book provides a step by step description of how to produce a net that you will be proud of. Lavishly illustrated with excellent black and white images that show every step of the procedure necessary to make an excellent net. This is a  great little book for anyone that wants a project to occupy the long winter months.
