TCX
Evolved from our popular TCR Series
TCX rods redefine the extreme distance category, as
we continue to push the outer boundaries of fly rod
performance.
We created a radical new series of tapers and a fly
rod that's lighter, stronger and more powerful than its
predecessor. Most importantly, the enhanced line feel
and feedback mean intuitively better timing and an
extraordinary level of casting ease for ultra-high-performance
fly rods.
Whether you're reaching for previously impossible lies,
bombing it into a stiff Nor' Easter or showing off in the
parking lot, the TCX provides skilled anglers with the
ultimate tool for success when facing the most challenging
situations. The question is, what kind of amazing new cast
will you make with it?

ZXL Series
Sage's newest family of fly rods has been developed using
the the technologies and design analysis perfected during
the creation of the Z-Axis family of rods. The performance
improvements which Sage demanded in the replacement of the
XP were held in high standard when plotting the path for a
replacement of the SLT's.
The new ZXL Series rods are significantly lighter, stronger
and easier to cast for everyone who enjoys the relaxed casting
rhythm of a progressive taper.
On the water, ZXL rods are simply dreamy. The smooth,
progressive action flexes down to the grip, making incredibly
delicate presentations and reminding you to kick back, relax
and enjoy.
All ZXL rods feature a narrower frip for increaded comfort
and feedback, slim-line nickel silver and rosewood reel seats,
ultra-slender blanks and a deep "pomegranate" finish.
But don't just take our word for it. By all means,
visit your nearest fly shop and take the ZXL-Axis
for a test spin. We think you'll find it's the
lightest, longest-casting, most accurate fast
action fly rod you've ever tried. (View the
Sage Video on rod design and construction at the

SAGE BASS FLY RODS
Magic? Or Slight of Hand?
Unique to the world of Sage fly rods are three new rods and matching fly
lines designed with multiple use applications. The first priority of these
specialized rods and lines are meeting the requirement of BASS tournament
length restrictions that all rods measure no longer than 8' whether they are
casting, spinning, or fly rods.
Sage BASS rods are 7' 11" and will qualify in all BASS tournaments.
MODELS
Sage BLUEGILL 7' 11" 230 gr
Sage Smallmouth BASS 7'11" 290 gr
Sage Largemouth BASS 7'11" 330 gr
The use of the names Largemouth and Smallmouth, while species specific in
the literal sense, should be purveyed as Heavy Duty and Light Duty
in the uses and purpose of each rod model. As such, the Largemouth
version has been put to use in backcountry mangroves for snook, redfish
and small Tarpon, and in freshwater for Bass, Pike and Muskies. The
Smallmouth BASS Rod is perfect for Smallies, White Bass, as well as
Largemouth Bass where moderate size bass bugs are put to use.
The addition of the BLUEGILL fills out the series with a lighter rod.
Kayak anglers will find either 4 piece rod easy to stow aboard their craft
and the shorter angling lever will make landing fish alongside the
craft an easier task than with longer rods. It might not
be magic, but it's pretty darn close.

Each rod and line has been designed for easy casting and fishing pleasure for
all fly anglers or anyone who has ever wanted to catch a bass on a fly rod.
The specialized WF lines are identified using the grain weight of the first 30'
of line. These bulky lines are designed for aggressively turning over stocky
leaders and the most wind resistant flies and bugs. Running line is oversized
for the easy handling in all weather conditions. Experienced anglers will
find these rods adaptable to all casting styles. Sinking line used with these
rods should approximate the grain weight silkscreened on each rod.

NEW Sage 6000 Series reels (left above) and the NEW Sage 4500 and

fiber spools. The 6000 Series designed for big fish and high drag settings,

spools.
Sage has also introduced the 3800CF Series Reels. Again, with the
exclusive "floating tripod" sealed graphite drag unit, the 3800CF
reels offer performance you simply can't find anywhere else in this
price range. If you are shopping for a new reel, check out the complete
