Old Rupe lives in Ohio, though we suspect he is
indeed a citizen of the world. He has more than one degree,
and currently earns his livelihood being a pharmacist. Rupe has been
many things in his life, one that rings in many of his essays
is time spent guiding on the Au Sable in Michigan. His
fine writing as a regular contributor to Old Flies and
Stuff brings us not just knowledge, but a sense of history,
camaraderie, and insight not found anywhere else. Those
new to fly fishing need to make his column required reading.
Rupe can be sometimes found in our Chat Room, and
is probably tying flies as he monitors the conversations.
